I resembled a wild beast in heat and whose eyes devour his female counterpart separated from by his cage’s bars , I stood still , stupefied , my head glued to the partition, my eye to the aperture, whence as it were I inhaled my torture the true torture of the damned terrible , unbearable torture which first assails the head , the mind then it infuses itself into the blood , next it infiltrates the bones to their pith which it does not cease to scorch it was my sensibility or my nervous system that made me suffer.
