It starts like nothing… and then it isn’t.

You’re talking, standing close but not that close. Not yet. And then something shifts. Maybe it’s the way their voice drops, or the way their eyes hold yours just a second too long.

You feel it in your body first.

A step closer. Not enough to be obvious, just enough to make you aware. Their hand finds your wrist, light… testing. Waiting to see if you pull away.

You don’t.

That’s all it takes.

Now everything slows down. Their thumb brushes once, absent minded on purpose, and suddenly your thoughts aren’t as clear as they were a moment ago. You’re too aware of the space, the heat, the quiet tension building between breaths.

They lean in not all the way. Just enough for you to feel it… that almost contact, that question hanging in the air.

And you realize, right then

this was never going to stay innocent.

Some moments don’t need permission.
They just wait… until neither of you wants to stop.
