Laughing at "flies are more brazen these days". Maybe you are more cranky?
Perhaps, but I don't remember flies gunning for me when I was young.
Good to hear you took out the fly.
I hate it when mosquitoes wake me up in the middle of the night
That fly isn't flying now!
Yeeeees great book despite flies annoying us as human but this book teaching us how to depend on yourself in this life and make achievements
Lord of the Flies is a very good book to read. A little disturbing but still good.
Flies and other insects are Pests. I keep a flyswatter in 2 parts of my Home....at the ready! Lol. I was going to Tease You Spunky...IF same fly kept bothering You in the bedroom...maybe it's time to change your Deodorant! Lmao 😉
Perhaps that fly, now dead fly, was trying to tell me something!
I do the same with most insects in my house. Except ANTS! I hate them...I used to shoot flies out of the sky in my youth with rubber bands. Had 20/16 vision then and was much more easily amused...
I used to kill ants in my home but I've now granted them an amnesty.
I hope you take him out soon my friend as they are nasty pesky annoyances that I don't like either. I keep a fly swatter handy in case one enters our place too.
I hope your Hump Day is treating you well..
I took the fly out this morning!
I can live with the bigs doing their thing. When they start bothering me though, I lose patience.
I lost patience with that fly; he's a fly no more!
I used to kill beasties indiscriminately (before I discovered fly fishing), thinking I was doing so with impunity . . . But, but, but, have you noticed how few dead insects you find on your windscreen these days after a long drive, compared to say, even 10 years ago? It's actually quite alarming.
Having said that, I still have no conscience whatsoever about killing those wee midge fluckers who descend on me in clouds any time I go near a loch at this time of year!! (I've stopped using DEET based repellents though, Smidge is the business, which I think is derived from bog mirtle.) Fascinating, eh, if ye're a geek like me mind!!
Midges are the worst insects; they make flies look like angels!
I show no mercy to flies but mosquitoes are much much greater nuisance
We don't get mosquitoes here so I can well understand your priorities.
You'd never survive camping in the forests on this side of the pond.
The assaults are simultaneous and come from black flies and mosquitoes. I won't mention the clouds of gnats that fly up your nose and into your eyes. 😲🙈
You're quite right I wouldn't survive. We don't get mosquitoes here. Gnats, or midges as we call them, are kamikaze bastards!
I don't have much tolerance for them myself. I have a flyswatter I use and I will use a fly stick'em tape to catch them also. Between both of these things I usually will put an end to their annoyance.
I hope you eliminate lots of flies even if American flies as of yet have no way of flying to Europe. But I suspect they'll work a way to do that.
Yes, flies are "vital part of the ecosystem from feeding on carrion to being food for spiders and birds" but I ain't go any of those (well except for maybe spiders) inside my house either. I dispose of flies ASAP (which admittedly is sometimes longer than I'd like.)
Swatting flies is almost futile as many will come back to take their place. There's never the last fly.
