RAIN AND BINGE-WATCHING
Like I said in my last post, it's been raining a lot here. It stopped long enough for us to get the lawn mowed and weed whacked yesterday, we went to a family graduation party, and today it's raining again. May was dry as a fart, June is wet as a drowned rat. Typical Midwest behavior.
So, when I'm not cleaning closets, I'm binging on "Grey's Anatomy". Oh, the tears come so easily, especially when someone is undergoing a heart procedure and they "code". It brings me back to almost 3 years ago. Whew! I'm OK....
I just watched the episode where Meredith's mother, who has dementia, starts giving wayyyyy too much information about her past. Her mom thinks she's 20 years younger, when she was an intern having an affair with Dr. Webber. She let it all out - all the gory details - calling Meredith's father a weak man, and saying how hot the affair was. They divorced, and Meredith didn't see her father for 20 years. The next day, Meredith tells her friends all about it, saying, "My mom was a filthy whore!!". LMAO!!
Do you ever worry that one day you will be at risk for dementia, and you will blurt out all the promiscuous things you did in the past to your kids?? I've thought about this, since my dad had dementia and Alzheimer's.
Still raining, on to the next episode.

My father in law had dementia and he broached that topic of his past experiences before he got married as well as a few experiences with his late wife. You can never unhear it! lol

I have pondered what I would say if I got dementia. It doesn't run in the family so hopefully I won't be shocking anyone anytime too soon

It definitely is! I think the hardest part with my Dad was when he didn't know us.

There's no particular of dementia in my family so hopefully I'm spared!

I do worry when I die what will become of my stash of naughty mementos, mostly PG/R and X-rated photos of my companions and me, engaged in various scandalous activities. Before my heart surgery almost 10 years ago, I gave them all to a trusted friend (and former play partner) to dispose of should I not make it.
That's a great idea! I was talking to the wife of a tattoo artist we used to go to years ago. She told me when they sold the Harley and bought a family friendly boat, they burned every single picture from the biker rallies that they had gone to. Smart move - on their part, and yours!
