It's "down to the wire" time for Christmas shopping, too late for mailing out last minute cards (for those who still do), and time to be with family. Or that's what all the television ads would have you believe. That's not been my experience.
That's right, everyone is sooooo busy that an actual Christmas get together is impossible. And 85% of them live in the same state. One nephew lives in California, but he and his new bride are flying back home. Then there's us. I have most of this week off, and the wife will be off tomorrow and Christmas day. I've decided to nmake some food for the few students who didn't leave for winter break, and bought a few things so they'd have something to unwrap. Then it's time to open a bottle of wine (or two) and wrap whatever surprise my spouse has thought up for this year that I'll no doubt gaze upon in bewilderment. Last year it was a Lego Adidas sneaker. It was returned. She says I'm hard to buy for, but I have an Amazon wishlist titled "Christmas". I'm not bitter, honest. I just want this to be over so I can fucus on the horrors of 2025 (new President, and Elon Musk being in charge of ANYthing in government ought to be a hoot) At least I'm going to Europe come summer.

I baked a cake and some cookies to take to the office. I wore Xmas colors. Then I went straight home. Ate too much for lunch so was too full to stop by somewhere for dinner. My life is soooo exciting - not! 😂
Well, Christmas here was met with more of the "Hoar's fog" which has everything a nice frozen white. Opened presents already, and now it's time for a nice home cooked breakfast.
Christmas day will be spent opening presents and eating a roast turkey dinner followed by some television.
