Dearest Horny Readers:

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now it's time to concentrate on Christmas. Is your tree up yet? I'm having a small (artificial) tree delivered today, just to appease the spouse. We haven't put a tree up since living here in the great white north, mainly because our old tree is a 9 footer, and won't fit in this little apartment. Like Thanksgiving, Christmas can pretty much suck it as well in my opinion. I've moved away from my friends, who don't stay in touch anymore, so there's no one to even send cards too, much less buy gifts for.

Then there's her family's "Secret Santa". I don't know who got me, but good luck with that. I buy whatever I want, so there's not much to ask for. The limit is $50, so I tell them to just donate to a charity in my name. This year, I drew one of her niece's husbands, and being that we don't agree on politics, it's all gag gifts and toilet paper with his choice of candidate on it. But don't worry readers, I'm expected to be a sarcastic ass, so it's all good.

I could even volunteer to work on Christmas day, as it's double time-and-a-half, as was the two days of Thanksgiving (cha-ching!), but the dorms will no doubt only have a few stragglers who can't afford to fly across the country to visit family. Did I mention I'm employed by a college, and work primarily in the dorms? I'm basically a responsible party throughout the night, there to ensure the place doesn't burn to the ground. During Christmas break, we seal the place up, and maintenance repairs the damage the little angles have caused.

Maybe my next post will be about the behind the scenes goings on of a college. If you're a parent with a kid in college, you might be surprised at all the the hidden costs which they sneak in to the bill.
