Almost two years ago, I chatted with a woman on an adult dating site who was in town (Fargo) visiting from Arizona. She kindof boasted about having more than one lover, (as she's poly) and after chatting a few times, asked if I wanted to be her "Minnesota boyfriend". We hadn't met yet, and since she was returning to Arizona before we could, what harm was it to say yes, right? Well, this past summer she was nearby visiting family so we met for lunch. It didn't really seem like she was too interested, but after lunch we parted ways, and later she texted and thanked me for lunch. To my surprise, she said she wanted to stay in touch, and get together when she was in town.
Well, this weekend (four months after we had lunch) I get a series of five photos of her in a bathing suit, and the following text which said "Would you be interested in coming for a visit? You could stay with me, as the weather is really nice right now and I have some free days in November." I'd like to pause right here and poll my female readers: Ladies, would you jump on a plane and fly over 1200 miles to stay with someone you've only met once? If this were a guy asking, would you consider it? Let's say he sweetened the pot and offered to pay for the plane fare (this isn't the case for me, but I'm wondering) -would that sway your decision? My immediate inclination was to say no, as I'd already explained that my availability was during the summer months, because I work in the education field.
Then there's the "Are you fucking kidding me?" factor. I don't think I would ever ask a woman I barely know to jump on a plane and fly to me, then put her up for a week not knowing much about her. Maybe it's because I'm older, or maybe it's because I've pretty much given up on meeting someone. I should also mention that this is the first time she'd contacted me since we met for lunch back in JUNE. (Oh, and if she visited "regularly" as she said when we were first chatting some two years ago, why have we only met once in two years?) I couldn't help but feel that I had been kept in reserve until she was out of other options.
Now, I'm pretty sure what the guys are going to say. Here's one of the photos she sent:
Not bad, not great. But she just doesn't give off a sexy vibe. And we didn't hit it off enough for me to have been waiting for an opportunity with her. If she was really interested, why'd it take 2 years to finally act on it? My first thought is that she just lost a play partner/boyfriend/lover, and is going through her old contacts. There was a time this invite would have been flattering, but not these days. All I could think about is the money I could save, and use on me.
In the end, I declined her "gracious" invitation.

I’ve had dudes contacting me after months of silence. I may or may not respond. Probably depends on how bored I am. One thing’s for sure, they’re not worth going out to meet.
I'm not going to be on call for anyone, especially on a once every year or two basis. Knowing you're a booty call is one thing, but being one as a last resort? Nah. I have too much self respect for that.

I honestly think the offer is sincere, but I'm just not willing to be that spontaneous these days. Plus, I'm not that into her. She's had my number for almost two years, and I'm of the thought that she just wants a plaything on her time, and I've just been on the back burner.
