Australia bans Social Media for under 16's
Now I'd to say some more about this: Initially I thought this ban would only affect the under 16's but the impact is far more reaching than that. I now have to supply proof of age, by means of P/port D/lic or B/cert to almost every Social Media site now if I want to continue using it. Plus I'm blocked from many other sites too, every porn site now wants proof of my age. There are other sites too that are not necessarily xxx that require this as well.
I have to say, for someone like me, this reform has been a nightmare.

Florida passed a similar law, keeping minors from porn. I ran into the same issues accessing sites. Here on this site, they scanned my face to determine I was of age.
The laws are pretty useless, one Aussie teenager told a news crew he drew on moustache & wrinkled his brow to pass the face/age recognition.
I can't access any porn sites anymore.

On one site I was only a month into a 12 month subscription & they said .... too much trouble setting all this age verification for so few Australian clients & that was it. I had zero means of communicating with them after that.
@FionaRing It's happening here as well. There are only a few sites not asking for ID/photos or both. The CLAMPDOWN as The Clash used to sing......
@BriBri62X ... I not against the concept of limiting access to porn for minors but to hand over my ID to dodgy people, on dodgy websites who have little to no security is just too dodgy.
